![]() ![]() In collaboration with J.Abbott Miller, she produced the exhibition and book the ABCs of ln s: The Bauhaus and Design Theory (1991) at The Cooper Union. Lupton was curator of the Herb Lubalin Study Center at The Cooper Union from 1985 through 1992, where she organized numerous exhibitions, including Global Signage: Semiotics and the Language of International Pictures (1986), Period Styles:Ī History of Punctuation (1988), and Graphic Design and Typography in the Netherlands (1992). She is currently working on the book and exhibition Mixing Messages: Graphic Design in Contemporary Culture, scheduled to open in September 1996 at the National Design Museum and the American Institute of Graphic Arts. ![]() Her projects there have included the book and exhibition Mechanical Brides : Woman and Machines from Home to Office (1993) and Elaine Lustig Cohen, Modern Graphic Designer (1995). She was appointed curator of contemporary design at Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum in May 1992. Ellen Lupton is a curator, writer, and graphic designer. ![]()
